Thanks to your generosity, we collected two full boxes (188 pounds!) of non-perishable food items, plus
some that didn't fit! Our Goodness Grows crew filled the back of Miss Jill's van with your donations...and it
took many trips to do it! We were also able to donate $878 to the food bank! And, as their website says,
"every $1 donated allows Second Harvest to distribute $11 worth of food, or the equivalent of 6 meals,
to hungry families." Your donations will provide a lot of meals to a lot of hungry families!!!

YG Christmas Food Drive for the Second Harvest Food Bank of the
Mahoning Valley This year the youth felt that our Christmas project should reflect the current situation in our country. With the pandemic and the quarantine resulting in job losses and economic hardship for many, food insecurity issues have increased in our valley and across the country. As a way to reach out and help our community, we collected donations for the Second Harvest Food Bank of the Mahoning Valley. Thanks for all your help!!!! |

About Second Harvest Food Bank
Second Harvest Food Bank is a member food bank of Feeding America, the nation's leading domestic hunger-relief charity. The Food Bank solicits, stores, and distributes food to hunger-relief organizations in Columbiana, Mahoning, and Trumbull counties; and provides education and advocacy. They believe that no one should go hungry, and are dedicated to building a community that makes food accessible to all people.
The Food Bank is a storehouse for large quantities of donated food and USDA commodities that are distributed to 160 hunger-relief organizations and programs located throughout our tri-county area. These member agencies include church pantries, homeless shelters and soup kitchens, shelters for battered women and after-school programs.
Organizations cannot require any fees for meals or pantry bags of food. All products must be distributed at no charge to recipients, with no suggested or implied donation amount or volunteer requirement. Participation or attendance in a religious service or ministry in order to receive food or a meal is not permitted.
